Media sources said that domestic gas prices have witnessed a sudden increase in the past few days in occupied Aden, while the city of Taiz is experiencing the largest gas crisis since 2015 as a result of stopping the gas from Shabwa governorate, which caused the gas flow to the governorates to be cut off.
The sources confirmed the worsening of the gas crisis in the governorates of Aden, Taiz and Lahj, as these cities are witnessing severe congestion and long queues of cars in front of filling stations, in light of a severe shortage in domestic gas supplies, with the closure of most stations due to the lack of gas.
According to the sources, The price of a gas cylinder in Aden has reached between 9,000 and 10,000 riyals, which is a record and catastrophic price that increases the deterioration of living conditions and citizens’ conditions.
The sources explained that this crisis is the result of the detention of gas trucks in Shabwa governorate by the UAE-backed Transitional Militia, which is demanding the payment of its salaries that have been delayed for months.
The occupied governorates, especially Aden, Lahj and Taiz, suffer from recurring crises in oil derivatives and domestic gas, due to the economic deterioration and security tensions that hinder transportation and distribution operations, which increases the suffering of citizens in light of high prices and the high cost of living.
Citizens demand that the concerned authorities quickly find radical solutions to the crisis, stressing that the continued gas outage will affect daily life and exacerbate their suffering.
