The recent US aggression against Yemen has created a new crisis for international shipping.
Reuters reported, citing shipping industry sources, that shipping costs across Red Sea have increased after the United States launched attacks on Yemen.
The agency explained that “fears of new attacks on ships from Yemen have increased after the United States launched airstrikes on Yemen.”
It noted that the insurance rate for ships linked to the United States and Britain has risen to 2% of the ship’s value, confirming that “war risk insurance fell to 0.5% after the ceasefire was announced in Gaza and rose again after the US escalation.”
The US enemy is launching attacks on Yemen in response to Sanaa’s resumption of the naval blockade on Israeli shipping, in an attempt to pressure the occupation to lift its blockade of Gaza.
