Chinese Ambassador to Russia Zhang Hanhui stated that the United States is the world’s biggest source of cyberattacks, the primary culprit behind them, and is seeking to militarize cyberspace.
Sputnik news agency quoted Hanhui saying, The United States is the largest source of cyber attacks. As the first country to establish a cyber command, the United States has been actively pursuing a large-scale cyber deterrence strategy in recent years, becoming the main driver of the militarization of cyberspace
He added, “The United States has a huge cyber force and continues to expand it, and has long secretly trained highly skilled hacker organizations to penetrate other countries’ networks.”
Hanhui also pointed out that the United States has openly included other countries’ critical infrastructure in the list of legitimate targets for its cyber strikes, and has long carried out indiscriminate and large-scale cyber attacks.
He confirmed that Washington has also developed a toolkit codenamed Marble, which uses obfuscation algorithms and the insertion of strings in different languages to deliberately mislead the analysis of attack sources, shifting responsibility for cyberattacks to other countries.
The Chinese Ambassador concluded by saying that “The US firmly controls key nodes of the Internet, such as the undersea fiber-optic cables in the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans , and has built seven national centers one after another to intercept all traffic. The US has a long history of indiscriminate cyber espionage against various countries around the world, including its allies, through programs such as PRISM and CAMBERDADA. It can be said that in this area, the US does not recognize any family ties and stops at nothing.”
‘PRISM’ is the name of a program used by the US National Security Agency to secretly gather information by intercepting phone calls and emails. The existence of this program became public thanks to leaks in The Washington Post and The Guardian.
‘CAMBERDADA ‘ is the name of a project used by the agency to track the activities of antivirus companies. Information about this project was revealed thanks to Edward Snowden, a former employee of the US intelligence agency.”
