UNRWA: Despair Has Reached Its Peak Amid The Humanitarian Crisis In Gaza

United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) confirmed on Tuesday that “despair has reached its peak” in the Gaza Strip amid a stifling humanitarian crisis.

This came in a statement issued by UNRWA, highlighting the worsening humanitarian crisis in the Strip, amid a stifling Israeli blockade and systematic starvation that threatens the lives of 2.4 million Palestinians.

The agency called on the Israeli authorities to lift their blockade on the Gaza Strip, which reached its peak on March 2.

UNRWA warned of “the worsening of the severe humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip due to the blockade, evacuation orders, and intense Israeli bombardment.”

It stated: “Despair has reached its peak in Gaza, as families search for food and supplies, while thousands are forced to flee.”

It is worth noting that the Israeli occupation continues its policy of systematic starvation of approximately 2.4 million citizens in Gaza, by closing the crossings to aid supplies piling up on the border since March 2, which has plunged the Strip into famine and claimed the lives of many.
