A delegation from the Hamas movement, headed by Khalil Al-Hayya, arrived in Cairo on Wednesday to follow up on the implementation of the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip.
The movement said in a brief statement that the delegation began meetings with Egyptian officials to discuss the implementation of the agreement, in addition to the prisoner exchange file through technical committees and mediators.
In a related context, Hamas had previously praised the positions of Arab countries and the international community that rejected any plans aimed at displacing the Palestinian people or liquidating their national rights.
The movement affirmed the Palestinians’ adherence to their land and homeland, stressing that they will not accept any solutions that detract from their legitimate rights to freedom and independence.
