Dutch Parliament approves law to reduce Israeli arms imports

The Dutch Parliament today, Saturday, approved a bill aimed at reducing the country’s reliance on Israeli arms imports, following war crimes committed by Israel in the Gaza Strip.

The decision was adopted after receiving support from two of the three parties that will participate in forming the new Dutch government, which is scheduled to take office later this month, according to the Palestinian Safa Agency.

The proposal emphasized the need for greater strategic independence and expressed concerns about relying on industries suspected of involvement in war crimes.

The bill’s rationale stated: “It is undesirable for the Netherlands to depend on military industries involved in war crimes,” while calling on Europe to reduce its reliance on “countries that pursue aggressive policies and military threats.”
