A US Congressional Democrat Senator called for an end to the humanitarian crisis in Yemen and a halt to military support for the Saudi authorities in its war against .
US Senator Ro khanna expressed his hope to adopt a draft resolution calling for the cessation of military support for Saudi forces, which led to the deaths of thousands of innocent victims in Yemen .
“We have to work to provide food and medicine to the Yemeni people, and end Saudi blockade and invite other countries to provide assistance in providing these materials and medical staff”. He said
He added that Yemen is suffering from the biggest humanitarian crisis at present with about 1 million people suffering from cholera and seven million on the verge of famine .
Khanna pointed to the policy of US President Donald Trump on Yemen, saying that it is misguided because it is trying to align itself with one party against another, the Saudi side, and the United States has no national interest, while viewed in this war as being complicit and violating its values.
