Speaker of the Yemeni Parliament Yahya Ali Al-Ra’i on Monday met with the International Crisis Group delegation headed by the Group’s Chief Executive Officer Robert Malley, who is currently visiting Yemen.
During the meeting, al-Ra’I called on the Group’s team to pressure the Saudi-led aggression coalition countries to stop the aggression, lift the land, sea and air blockade and reopen Sanaa International Airport.
Al-Ra’i touched on the situation in Yemen as a result of the aggression and siege and their repercussions at various levels,
“In spite of all this, we still extend our hands to dialogue that leads to honorable and just peace ending the suffering of the Yemeni people and not surrender,” he said.
Al-Rai called for the fair implementation of the Stockholm Agreement and the redeployment in Hodeidah, which was initiated by the national party unilaterally under the UN supervision team.
He denounced the attempt of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates to occupy parts of the Yemeni territories and islands.
For his part, Malley stressed the importance of putting an end to the humanitarian suffering in Yemen and achieving a just peace through supporting dialogue and resolving the conflict, which is one of the tasks of the Group.
