The Criminal Court in Hodeida province held on Wednesday its fourth session to prosecute defendants in the assassination of the martyr President Saleh al-Sammad and his guards.

In the session chaired by Judge Abdul Hafedh al-Mahbashi, a defense lawyer for one of the accused presented a memorandum of reasons for appealing the first judgment.

The court decided to give the remaining lawyers the last chance to present petitions regarding the reasons for their appeal of the first instance judgment.

In August 2020, the Criminal Court sentenced 16 defendants to death, convicted of the charges against them in the indictment, including the assassination of martyr President Saleh al-Sammad and his guards.
