Member of the Supreme Political Council, Mohammed Al-Houthi, stated that the Yemeni Armed Forces’ decision to allow the withdrawal of the Sounion ship was driven by a strong concern for the environment and the desire to prevent any potential environmental disaster.
He held the United States and the United Kingdom responsible for any leakage from the ship.
Al-Houthi explained that the decision to allow the ship’s withdrawal reflects the Yemeni Armed Forces’ deep environmental concerns, akin to their commitment to supporting Gaza and halting the humanitarian catastrophe caused by the temporary Israeli entity, which is backed by the US and UK support for Jewish terrorism.
“If those who withdrew the Sounion ship were truly concerned about preventing a humanitarian disaster, they would have acted to stop the catastrophe in Gaza. Their humanity would have been evident in efforts to halt the genocide and crimes against people in Palestine, Yemen, and other places,” he added.
Al-Houthi emphasized that those who fuel wars in the region by selling weapons—whether they are American or British—do not possess any genuine concern for avoiding disasters elsewhere.
He held the US and Britain accountable for any potential leakage from Sounion, even while it is anchored, stating that there are justifiable reasons for this accountability, which will be clarified if necessary.
