Criminal Division in Sa’ada province reviewed on Wednesday additional evidence in the espionage case against eight individuals accused of collaborating with hostile nations.
The session, chaired by Chairman of the Court of Appeal Judge Suleiman Qaid al-Shamiri, alongside Judges Amir al-Din Sari and Ali al-Shajni, and attended by Head of the Public Prosecution Judge Ibrahim Jahez and Appeal Prosecution member Judge Abdulmalik al-Ansi, focused on the defense attorney’s response to the evidence presented.
The court granted the defense until 27 Jumada al-Awwal 1446 AH to submit further defenses and responses. Initially, the court had convicted the defendants on charges outlined in the indictment and sentenced them to death as a discretionary measure
