The Deputy Minister of Justice and Human Rights, Judge Ibrahim Mohammed al-Shami, met today with Australian thinker Professor Tim Anderson, one of the most prominent global activists advocating for the causes of Yemen and Palestine.

The meeting addressed several issues related to human rights and the grave crimes committed against the Yemeni and Palestinian peoples as a result of the US-Israeli-British aggression, along with international complicity. Discussions also focused on ways to raise global awareness of the suffering endured by both peoples.

During the meeting, Judge al-Shami highlighted the suffering of the Yemeni people caused by the brutal aggression and unjust blockade, as well as the scale of the crimes, massacres, and destruction inflicted across Yemen.

He praised Professor Tim Anderson’s efforts in advocating for the causes of Yemen and Palestine, emphasizing that his positions represent a victory for humanity and the oppressed.

Judge al-Shami explained that the aggression in Yemen has targeted all aspects of life, including human lives and infrastructure, leading to massive destruction. He noted that the judiciary and judicial infrastructure were also targeted in an attempt to create chaos within society.

The discussion also touched on the suffering of citizens in areas under occupation and control by mercenaries in parts of Yemen. Judge al-Shami confirmed that many citizens in occupied areas are being held in secret prisons, where they are subjected to inhumane and unethical abuse.

Despite the ongoing aggression and unjust blockade, Judge al-Shami emphasized that Yemen, under the leadership of Sayyed Abdul-Malik al-Houthi, has remained steadfast in supporting its Palestinian brothers, who are enduring the most heinous crimes and massacres at the hands of the Israeli occupation.

He pointed out that this is happening with significant Western backing and amid international silence. He also mentioned that the US has attempted to tighten the siege on Yemen without achieving its objectives.

Ali Taisir, the head of the Human Rights sector at the Ministry of Justice and Human Rights, praised Professor Tim Anderson’s efforts in defending Yemen, Palestine, Syria, and Iraq, describing his actions as a true embodiment of humanitarian spirit.

He reviewed the human and material losses Yemen has sustained due to the aggression and blockade, expressing confidence that Professor Anderson would contribute to combating global media misinformation and raising awareness of Yemen’s suffering worldwide.

In response, Professor Tim Anderson praised Yemen’s unwavering support for the Palestinian people, emphasizing that Yemen is the only country in the world that has stood firmly against the genocide being committed by Israel against the Palestinians.

He noted that many people around the world were previously unaware of Yemen, but now, thanks to its actions and stances against the crimes being committed against the Palestinians, Yemen is widely recognized and admired.

Professor Anderson reaffirmed his commitment to breaking the global media misinformation surrounding Yemen’s positions and suffering. He also acknowledged the great sacrifices the Yemeni people have made in defending their country over the past ten years.
