Chinese websites and platforms have revealed a major US failure in confronting the Yemeni forces, and the withdrawal of the new US aircraft carrier ‘Vinson’ long distances after being attacked by Yemen’s fire.
Baijiahao, The China-based news platform reported in a recent report that the US aircraft carrier “Carl Vinson” was subjected to a missile attack by Yemeni armed forces on its first day of deployment to the Middle East, forcing it to retreat 800 kilometers after being hit.
The report revealed the Yemeni attack caused extensive damage to the deck of the USS Carl Vinson, noting that the so-called “Houthis” were using low-cost tactics that penetrate the US military’s costly defense line.
The Baijiahao’s report confirmed that the US Central Command acknowledged that the bombing of Yemen has only created more hatred of the United States.
The report described the Yemeni operations as a “surprise intelligence war,” and that “the Houthis are obtaining accurate information about the movements of the US fleet,” adding that the attack on the Carl Vinson was a lament for the era of unipolar hegemony.
For its part, the Chinese website Sohu revealed also the disastrous American failure in confronting Yemen.
The Sohu report indicated that Washington was forced to rely on “local proxies” after its inability to engage in a direct ground confrontation, fearing a repeat of the nightmares of Afghanistan and Vietnam.
It emphasized that American airstrikes and intensive bombing campaigns, which lasted for months and during which Washington spent billions of dollars, had caused only limited damage in Yemen.
According to the report, Yemen’s rugged mountainous terrain, which closely resembles that of Afghanistan, made Washington reluctant to send ground forces, fearing it would turn into a “graveyard for American soldiers,” as had happened in previous wars.
“To compensate for this shortcoming, Washington resorted to employing ‘proxies’, pressuring Saudi Arabia, the Yemeni government loyal to it, and local militias to recruit tens of thousands of fighters, while providing them with American weapons and funding.” The Sohu report added.
“The report questioned the effectiveness of these agents, describing them as “mercenaries without a fighting spirit” who could collapse in the face of Sanaa’s trained and determined fighters.”
The site highlighted that “the victories achieved by Yemenis over the years in ground confrontations against the US-Saudi-Emirati aggression alliance have inflicted heavy losses on the criminal coalition in both equipment and troops—making Riyadh a global laughingstock.”
