The UN Human Rights Office in the occupied Palestinian territories said on Sunday that Gaza is the most dangerous place in the world for journalists.
In a post on “X,” it said it has verified the killing of 295 journalists in Israeli attacks on Gaza, according to monitoring by the Yemen News Agency (Saba).
It called for action beyond condemnation to ensure accountability, protect journalists, and allow independent media access.
It also noted that, since October 7, 2023, the ongoing war in Gaza has resulted in tens of thousands of Palestinian deaths and injuries, mostly women and children, with many still under the rubble.
