Tens of thousands of Yemenis took to the streets of the capital Sanaa on Monday to mark the third anniversary of steadfastness in the face of Saudi-led coalition aggression.
The mass rally took place at Sabeen Square in the capital of Sana’a.
The protesters carried Yemeni flags and photos of the victims of the Saudi deadly military campaign, holding banners denouncing Riyadh’s non-stop air raids and calling for resistance against the assault.
In the event, President of Political Council, Saleh al-Samad announced the launching of state building project coincided with the beginning of the fourth Year of steadfastness in the Face of Saudi-led coalition aggression on Yemen.
“This trend coincided with a battle being fought against the Saudi-American assaults in several fronts,” he added.
President continued saying, “as we launch this project, we know that the road is too long and full of difficulties and challenges, especially under Saudi-led aggression, but we have the capabilities to build a state”.
“Our battle today in defending Yemen and to regain its independence and build the state”, al-Samad said.
He reaffirmed that Yemenis want a just and honorable peace that guarantees the freedom and dignity of the Yemeni people, stressing their readiness to set in peace talks and to deal with any initiatives that would end the aggression and lift the blockade on Yemen.
He called on all the internal national forces involved in the ranks of Saudi-led aggression to a dialogue in order to solve the issues on negotiating table.
He praised victories achieved by the Yemeni army and popular committees in fighting battles on several fronts.
