Dozens of Saudi-led coalition soldiers and mercenaries were killed and wounded when the Yemeni army repulsed a large attack towards Jawf province on Thursday, Yemen’s army spokesman said in a statement.

Spokesman Yahay Sare’e affirmed that the Yemeni army targeted enemy reinforcements with a ballistic missile of the Qasem type, which led to heavy causalities.

Sare’e added that the mercenaries’attack, which was backed by 30 airstrikes, did not achieve any advance towards the sites of the Yemeni army in the province.

Brigadier General Sare’e said that more than five attack and infiltration attempts carried out by the mercenaries were foiled and broken by the Yemeni army in several fronts recently, in spite of heavy air cover by coalition fighter jets to support its mercenaries on the ground.
