The Yemeni army’s air defences have shot down an unmanned aerial vehicle of the type CH-4 belonging to the Saudi-led aggression coalition forces over Jawf province, Yemen’s military spokesman said on Sunday.

According to Brigadier General Yahya Sare’e, the plane was hit with a surface-to-air missile of a type which has not yet been revealed to the general public, while it was carrying out hostile actions in the airspace of Al-Marazeeq area in Jawf.

He confirmed that “the Yemeni airspace is no longer as open as before, and is not meant for taking a walk in.”

This is the second Chinese-made unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) downed in Yemen.

On Friday, the air defences managed to shoot down a Chinese Wing Loong-2 unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), operated by the Saudi-led coalition forces in Najran province, southwestern Saudi Arabia.

On Sunday, the military media of the Yemeni army released video footage showing the wreckage of the Wing Loong-2 drone that was hit with a surface-to-air missile.
