Lahj governor Ahmed Jerib has affirmed that Yemeni unity is the greatest achievement achieved by the Yemeni people in the modern history of Yemen.

In a statement, Jerib indicated that the unity was the result of the will of the people in the south and north, and it is still one of the national gains that cannot be neglected, despite the treachery it was subjected to by the previous regime in the summer of 1994.

He accused the loyalists of the countries of aggression who ruled Yemen under the supervision of the Saudi embassy and royal debts of distorting this historical achievement and turning them, after the war of the summer of 1994 AD, into war booty.

The governor stated that the suffering of the people of the southern provinces resulted from the injustice of the 7/7 regime after that unjust war requires justice until now.

He said, “The approach of the leadership of the revolution represented by Sayyed Abdumalik al-Houthi and President of the Supreme Political Council Mahdi al-Mashat to do justice to the southern cause, reflects the extent they feel the importance of the case and seek to close this file with fairness.

He stressed that the countries of the US-Saudi-Emirati aggression that stood behind stirring up sedition between the unity partners and fueling the conflicts during the period that followed the declaration of Yemeni unity on May 22, 1990, up to the outbreak of war, cannot be part of the solution to the southern issue, but rather countries seek to transform or divide Yemen into small cantons through new colonial projects.

Jerib called on the people of the southern provinces to reject the new colonizers and invaders who occupied the south and turned it into the spoils of a new war.

He considered the presence of the 7/7 regime today in al-Ma’ashiq Palace in Aden province as evidence of the danger of the aggression countries’ projects and their conspiracies against the south, its wealth, security, and stability.
