The Supreme Political Council and the National Salvation Government have on Monday organised a ceremony on the occasion of the 32nd anniversary of Yemeni Unity.

In a speech during the celebration, member of the Supreme Political Council, Ahmed Ghaleb al-Rahwi, affirmed Yemen’s full readiness for the next stage at all levels to liberate every inch of Yemen’s land.

For his part, Prime Minister Dr. Abdulaziz bin Habtoor stressed that the Saudi-led coalition countries wanted, through the armistice, to reposition their forces on the ground while adopting a new strategy to besiege the Yemeni people.

Advisor of the Supreme Political Council, Mohammed Muftah, said that “the global arrogance countries found that their ambitions in Yemen can only be achieved by the fragmentation of its geography and the dismantling of its social fabric,” adding that “the enemies’ plans are based on the fragmentation of Yemen by land and people, and we will not allow that.”

Minister of Fishery Mohammed al-Zubairi affirmed that “Yemeni unity is a well-established human, cultural and civilised component that cannot be changed or ended by narrow occupation projects.

Yemen was united in 1990, after the Yemeni Arab Republic in the north and the People’s Democratic Republic of Yemen in the south merged, after having been separate countries for decades, originally caused by British colonial interference.
