France began moves in the file of Shabwa, which is rich in oil and gas in eastern Yemen.
This coincides with arrangements for the exit of the Saudi-Emirati alliance, amid indications of potential conflicts.
The French ambassador to Yemen, Jean-Marie Safa, met with Aidarous Al-Zubaidi, the head of the transitional council and a member of the presidential council.
Transitional media reported that the meeting discussed French support for the transitional forces to secure Shabwa.
For its part, sources in the Transitional Council stated that the French ambassador promised to provide huge military support to the Transitional Council under the name of “fighting terrorism” in Abyan and Shabwa, noting that the ambassador discussed with Al-Zubaidi the resolution of the battle of Abyan to secure Shabwa.
The French movement comes in the wake of the withdrawal of the UAE forces from Shabwa, as his country maintains the most important liquefied gas production company in Balhaf, along with oil fields.
The French moves, whose policy is based on supporting coups to protect their gains, indicate that they are seeking to blow up the situation again in the province, which continued to seize its revenues during the war years.
