The Meteorological and Early Warning Center in Yemen reported the continued and deepening effect of the cold air mass on the mountainous governorates and parts of the interior plateaus and deserts.
In its weather bulletin on Thursday, the Center expected the weather to be cold to very cold in the mountainous governorates, especially the mountainous basins of the governorates of Sa’ada, Amran, Sana’a, Dhamar and Al Bayda, with frost forming in various parts of them.
It is also expected that the weather will be cold to relatively cold in the high areas of the governorates of Al-Dhalea, Ibb, Taiz, Lahj, Abyan, Shabwa, Hadhramaut, west of Ma’rib and west of Al-Jawf.
The center recorded the lowest temperatures recorded at some weather monitoring stations this morning, which were as follows: Dhamar: 1.4, Amran: 2.6, Sanaa: 3.6, Ibb: 7.5, Al-Sadda: 9 degrees.
The center warned citizens against cold to very cold weather, especially the elderly, the sick, children, and workers during the night and early morning. He called on farmers, livestock herders and beekeepers to protect their agricultural crops, livestock and bee property from the effects of the severe cold wave.
