Gideon Golber, the CEO of the Israeli port of Eilat, has revealed the weakness of the American-British-European alliance in repelling attacks on ships linked to Israel in the Red Sea.

“There has been no activity in the port for about 6 months due to attacks in the Red Sea,” Golbar told the Israeli newspaper “Calcalist”.

He added: “Israel and the US-British-European coalition have proven to be afraid, weak, and hesitant, and the Houthis are becoming more and more confident.”

He pointed out that shipping companies do not trust the Western US-British naval alliance’s ability to protect ships if they sail to Eilat, making them unwilling to take the risk.

He said: “I don’t think we can live without the Red Sea route, as many ships don’t even reach Ashdod and Aqaba.”

He confirmed that the maritime blockade causes monthly losses to the port, stating that they are not a store selling consumer goods but rather a national infrastructure for Israel to transport goods through.
