The General Authority of Civil Aviation and Meteorology announced on Sunday the resumption of work at the aircraft maintenance center at Sana’a International Airport, 10 years after it was closed due to the siege and war on Yemen.

The head of the General Authority of Civil Aviation, Yahya Al-Sayani, confirmed in a press statement that the opening took place following an agreement with the Yemeni Airlines Company to restore and rehabilitate the company’s capabilities.

“The pressure measures of the global arrogant countries are what prevent the opening of new flight destinations through Sana’a International Airport,” Al-Sayani said.

For his part, Acting Chairman of the Board of Directors of Yemen Airways in Sanaa, Khalil Jahaf, explained that work is being done to restore the aircraft maintenance center at Sanaa Airport to its regional role that it exercised before the war on the country.

In turn, Director of Sana’a International Airport, Khaled Al-Shayef, indicated that the aircraft maintenance center at Sana’a Airport was a regional center that carries out maintenance for various local and international transport aircraft.

He pointed out that since the first day of the war on Yemen, the maintenance center at Sanaa Airport was closed and aircraft maintenance work was transferred abroad.
