The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) has labeled the situation in Gaza as an “endless nightmare of death and destruction” following a new round of violence.
In a statement posted on the social media platform “X,” UNRWA reported that fear has intensified among Gaza’s residents after the Israeli army issued evacuation orders for parts of Khan Yunis and al-Mawasi, areas previously deemed humanitarian zones.
Since the onset of the conflict on October 7, the Israeli military, with American and European support, has continued its bombardment of civilian areas including hospitals, residential buildings, and infrastructure.
This ongoing aggression has resulted in the deaths of 40,005 Palestinians, injuries to over 92,401 individuals, and the displacement of 90% of Gaza’s population.
The blockade has also severely restricted the supply of essential resources such as water, food, medicine, and fuel.
