The Yemeni Military Media released Monday 42-minute footage of the second part of a series of tactical exercises dubbed “To Make Your Faces Wretched” (Quranic verse) carried out by the Yemeni Armed Forces’ naval and ground units.

According to the Yemeni Military Media, the exercises are part of the Battle of the Promised Conquest and the Sacred Jihad in support of the Palestinian and Lebanese peoples and in commemoration of the one-year anniversary of Operation Al-Aqsa Flood.

The exercises simulate the Yemeni Armed Forces’ response to extensive hostile attacks in mountainous and desert regions, with active participation from the Public Mobilization Forces.

The maneuvers, taking place in the Fifth Military Region, simulated shelling and destruction of enemy positions, fortifications, and targets using drones, artillery shells, tanks, and various medium- and heavy-caliber machine guns and sniper rifles.

The drills included ambushes targeting mock enemy movements and reinforcements, with Yemeni Armed Forces personnel storming enemy positions and camps from multiple directions in rugged mountainous terrain, engaging directly with light weapons at point-blank range.

The maneuvers also depicted the repulsion of a simulated enemy advance, with Yemeni fighters neutralizing the advancing forces, as well as a scenario simulating potential enemy airstrikes.

Footage showed engineering teams demolishing communication towers and sites rigged with explosives by the mock enemy prior to their retreat, in addition to sniper operations taking down enemy guards along defensive lines.

In another part of the exercise, combat operations were simulated in a desert environment, where artillery shells struck enemy fortifications and barracks across various locations, while drones targeted enemy vehicles, key installations, and command and communication centers.

Infantry formations advanced on mock enemy positions under covering fire, followed by the detonation of enemy fortifications and barracks once secured.

During the exercises, the hypothetical enemy conducted simulated airstrikes to support its forces and attempted an aerial deployment, prompting civilians and the Public Mobilization Forces to mobilize in defense against the enemy forces.

The footage also showed simulated confrontations between the Public Mobilization Forces and the encircled enemy troops, as Rapid Intervention Forces of the Yemeni Armed Forces arrived to clear the area of enemy presence.
