Eight people died and seven others were rescued from a rock collapse in Bani Al Khayat area, Al Tawila district, in Mahweet province, local sources said on Monday.
The rock collapse occurred on the house of Muhammad Hazam Al-Baras in the Beit Al-Baras area of the Bani Al-Khayat district.
According to the sources, the the house was inhabited by 14 people at the time of the collapse; four of whom were survived, including a mother and two children.
Residents rushed to the site and participated in rescue operations while the search for other victims continued.
The Yemen Red Crescent Society in Al-Mahweet contributed to the search and removal of rubble, resulting in the recovery of seven bodies, with search operations still ongoing for the remaining victims.
