FM Meets UNICEF Resident Representative in Yemen

The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Jamal Ahmed Amer, met today with Peter Hawkins, the Resident Representative of the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) in Yemen.

In the meeting, Minister Amer stressed the importance of UNICEF reviewing the mechanism of procedures followed when preparing and implementing projects and activities and simplifying them as much as possible, which will positively reflect on developing the work mechanism and constitute a success for the organization and can be a model for other organizations.

He called on UNICEF, while implementing projects related to humanitarian aid, to take into account the exceptional situation the country is experiencing, focusing primarily on the most needy groups and areas.

In turn, the UNICEF Resident Representative in Yemen explained that the organization works in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates and the relevant government agencies to provide aid according to need and ensure that it reaches the most needy groups and areas.
