The occupied city of Aden witnessed massive popular protests, denouncing the deterioration of living conditions.
The labor unions, a large segment of teachers, a number of unions in state institutions, and the Retirees Coordination Council organized a large demonstration rejecting the collapse of the local currency, the interruption of salaries, and the rise in prices.
The protesters raised banners demanding the improvement of their salaries and their regular disbursement, and addressing the economic deterioration of the national currency, holding the occupation authorities responsible for the economic deterioration, and denouncing their disregard for the suffering of the people.
This comes amid massive protests sweeping the governorates of Aden, Lahj, Abyan, Al Dhale, Taiz, and Socotra against the authorities loyal to the Saudi-Emirati occupation.
On the other hand, about five people were killed and injured yesterday as a result of violent clashes between gunmen from the “Al Marm Al Rabidi and Al Shurafa” tribes in Al Wadea District in Abyan Governorate, which is under the control of the Emirati militias.
Local sources in the directorate reported that the clashes between the two tribes’ gunmen resulted in the death of two people and the injury of three others with varying degrees of injury, following a dispute between young men over football, which developed into an armed confrontation in which firearms were used.
The sources explained that the clashes caused a state of panic and terror among citizens, especially women and children, amid fears of renewed confrontations, without the Transitional Militias deployed in the directorate taking any measures to contain the conflict or reduce tension.
This incident comes amid the security chaos that the directorates of Abyan Governorate and other governorates are suffering from as a result of the absence of effective state authorities since the occupation took control of those areas.
In addition, seven gunmen were killed and wounded yesterday in bloody clashes between the Islah militia’s rescue forces and gunmen in Ali Saleh Market in the Al-Quba area in the center of Taiz city, which is under the control of the Islah militias.
Local sources reported that violent clashes between gunmen resulted in the death of one person and the injury of six others with varying degrees of injury, amid a state of security tension in the Al-Quba area.
The sources said that the incident began with a dispute between an elderly man and a qat seller in the market, and the dispute developed into a fight, after which security personnel intervened and fired into the air, wounding the elderly man in the foot.
The sources added, “Later, the elderly man’s sons returned to the market and attacked the qat seller, killing him and six other people who were present at the scene, in addition to a number of injuries resulting from the clashes that erupted.”
