European Union and Arab ambassadors, on Friday, categorically expressed calls for the forced displacement and ethnic cleansing of the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip.

During a meeting at the European Union headquarters in New York, they stressed the importance of implementing the “two-state solution” and Security Council Resolution 2735, which stipulates a ceasefire, the entry of aid into Gaza, and the Israeli withdrawal from the Strip.

They affirmed their full support for the rights of the Palestinian people in the United Nations and the need to end the occupation and achieve the “two-state solution” that enjoys international consensus.

They agreed to continue coordination and strengthen common positions on the Palestinian issue, stressing that the official position rejects forced displacement and protects the rights of civilians.

Trump had proposed last Tuesday imposing American control over Gaza, and said in a joint press conference with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the White House: “The United States will take control of the Gaza Strip, and we expect to have long-term ownership there.”

  • Trump stated that the United States will take responsibility for reconstruction work in the region, in addition to turning it into the “Riviera of the Middle East” for the entire world.
