The Gaza government warned on Sunday of the imminent return of famine to the Gaza Strip due to Israel’s closure of border crossings to humanitarian and medical aid.
In a statement, the government’s media office said that “today marks the 15th day of the Israeli occupation’s crime of preventing aid and tightening the siege by closing the Gaza crossings.”
The office called on mediators to take action to stop the Israeli occupation’s crime against more than two million people.
In early March, the Israeli occupation forces closed all crossings leading to Gaza to prevent the entry of humanitarian aid, after the occupation reneged on the ceasefire agreement in the region, amid American disregard and international silence.
Additionally, a new batch of patients and wounded from Gaza left on Sunday morning, through the Rafah border crossing in the southern Gaza Strip.
The Civil Defense reported that the 44th batch of patients and wounded from Gaza left via the Rafah border crossing to receive treatment abroad.
The evacuation of the wounded and patients from Gaza is in accordance with the terms of the ceasefire agreement that came into effect on January 19.
