Ministry Of Justice Condemns US Airstrikes On Residential Areas In Yemen

The Ministry of Justice and Human Rights condemned the terrorist attacks carried out by US aggression aircraft on Sunday, which targeted residential neighborhoods in the capital, Sana’a, and other governorates.

In a statement obtained by the Yemeni News Agency (Saba), the Ministry denounced the aggression’s attacks on the governorates of Al Hudaydah and Saada, as well as the raid on a residential building in the Asr area of Moeen district in Sana’a.

The raid resulted in the death of one citizen, the injury of 13 others, including children and women, and significant damage to dozens of neighboring homes. This caused widespread fear and panic among residents of the area.

The Ministry emphasized that the US aggression constitutes a blatant violation of international humanitarian law. This heinous massacre, along with others, is a war crime and a crime against humanity. It exposes America’s disregard for the international system, international law, and human rights principles.

The Ministry also highlighted that the US aggression against the Yemeni people serves as a distraction from the genocide and forced displacement committed by “Israel” in the Gaza Strip.

It noted that the planned attacks on Yemen are meant to divert the UN’s focus away from addressing these grave crimes.

The Ministry pointed out that the silence of the United Nations and its humanitarian agencies enables the aggressor to continue committing brutal crimes, with the backing of the United States and Britain.

The Ministry of Justice and Human Rights holds the United Nations—specifically the Security Council and the Human Rights Council—along with world nations and international organizations, fully responsible for the US aggression against Yemen.

It called for the Security Council to convene an emergency meeting to halt the aggression against Yemen, urging the UN to fulfill its duty to protect civilians from genocide in accordance with relevant international agreements.

The Ministry noted that the UN has failed to protect civilians from genocide and forced displacement in Palestine.

The Ministry reaffirmed Yemen’s right to defend its sovereignty, people, and territorial integrity using all available means, as guaranteed by international agreements, particularly the United Nations Charter.

Furthermore, the Ministry made it clear that these crimes will not go unpunished. It will continue to monitor all violations and criminal acts committed against Yemen and its people, paving the way for prosecuting the Zionist entity and its supporters before national and international courts.
