German network DW published a new report confirming that the US war against Yemen has become the most costly and complex battle for the Pentagon at present, amid clear indications that airstrikes are failing to achieve their strategic objectives.
According to the report, the ongoing US military operations against Yemeni forces since mid-January have not led to a decline in their capabilities. On the contrary, the Yemeni forces have demonstrated a high capacity for adaptation and development, both in terms of offensive tactics and the weapons systems used.
DW added that the airstrikes, despite their intensity, are unable to have a decisive impact and are unlikely to achieve the goal of defeating the Yemeni forces through airstrikes, especially given the experience these forces have accumulated over the years of war that has been ongoing since 2015.
The report indicates that the current war is not just a military battle but a major economic and strategic drain on the United States, especially in light of the expanding geographic scope of the conflict and the continued Yemeni attacks on American and Israeli ships despite the air escalation.
