Yemen’s Grand Mufti urges Yemenis to join ‘Al-Aqsa Flood’ training courses

Yemen’s Grand Mufti, Shams al-Din Sharaf al-Din, has called on the Yemeni people to enroll in the “Al-Aqsa Flood” training courses and prepare for jihad against enemies, drawing inspiration from the spirit of sacrifice embodied by Imam Hussein (peace be upon him).

Speaking during a mass rally in the Capital Sana’a, marking the martyrdom of Imam Hussein, Sharaf al-Din said the call comes within the framework of reviving the Ashura school, which embodies the values of sacrifice, selflessness, and devotion to God.

He stressed that commemorating Imam Hussein’s martyrdom is a reaffirmation of the values and principles he established, noting that the lessons of Ashura should serve as a source of inspiration for the Muslim nation in confronting contemporary challenges.

Commenting on regional developments, Sharaf al-Din said that US President Donald Trump, in his confrontation with Iran, was seeking what he described as “illusory victories.”

He stressed that Iran’s missile capabilities and the culture of jihad and martyrdom represented by the “Axis of Resistance” were the factors that compelled Washington to engage in negotiations.

He added that, through commemorating the occasion, the Yemeni people renew their commitment to the revolutionary values embodied by Imam Hussein and demonstrate their readiness to confront enemies while adhering to the path of sacrifice until victory is achieved.
