The head of Supreme Political Council, Mahdi al-Mashat, praised and thanked the Yemeni people for their massive turnout in the Yemeni capital, Sanaa and other provinces, to mark the birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
In a statement following mass rallies across Yemen, Al-Mashat said the unprecedented crowds demonstrate Yemenis’ deep connection to the Prophet and their commitment to his teachings and example.
He said the million-strong celebrations sent a clear message to the world about Yemenis’ adherence to the Prophet’s values, Quranic teachings and religious identity, despite years of aggression and blockade.
Al-Mashat said the large-scale participation reflects Yemenis’ ability to preserve their religious and social traditions despite difficult economic and humanitarian conditions, describing the celebrations as an opportunity to draw lessons from the Prophet’s life and strengthen social solidarity and responsibility.
He also linked the occasion to Yemen’s positions on regional issues, particularly the Palestinian cause, saying the Prophet’s example reinforces support for oppressed peoples and the causes of the Islamic nation.
Al-Mashat praised the efforts of government institutions, security forces and organizing, health, traffic and service committees for facilitating the large gatherings across the country.
