Foreign Minister Hisham Sharaf Abdallah on Saturday met with the acting director of the office of the special envoy of the secretary-general of the United Nations to Yemen Ayman Mekki
At the meeting, the minister handed over a letter to the UN envoy on the escalation of the Saudi-UAE aggression coalition against the civilians, the continued systematic targeting of Yemeni children by their warplanes and committing atrocities in Yemen of which the latest two massacres of Dhahyan and Durihami which are flagrant violation of the laws of war and Geneva Conventions of 1949.
He noted that the crimes committed by the aggression against civilians are a clear impediment to United Nations efforts that aimed to thwart the efforts of the Special Envoy oF UN to Yemen.
In the letter, he called on the United Nation Security Council ( UNSC) to take a courageous and binding decision to cease aerial bombardment and military operations in various fronts and to lift the ban on Sana’a international airport, as a step of confidence-building measures for the success of the efforts of UN envoy Martin Griffiths.
