Ministry of Transport and Public Works condemned on Sunday the dangerous escalatory move by the Saudi enemy carried out through its mercenaries involving the closure of roads and the blockade of dozens of vital main routes in Taiz Governorate.
Foremost among these are the Al-Qasr Roundabout crossing and the roads connecting the governorat Key among these are the Al-Qasr Roundabout crossing and the roads connecting the governorate’s districts to neighboring governorates.
In a statement, the Ministry explained that the mercenaries’ closure of 14 vital roads and arteries including the main route extending from Sanaa through Dhamar, Ibb, Al-Qa’idah, and Al-Hawban to the Al-Qasr Roundabout, as well as roads leading to Al-Rahidah, Al-Barh, Al-Mukha, Al-Aqroud, and Al-Maqatarah constitutes a declaration of war and a direct attack on the daily lifeline for thousands of the governorate’s residents and travelers passing through it.
The statement emphasized that the claims made by enemy media and its proxies citing military necessity and safety concerns are merely flimsy pretexts and a transparent cover to legitimize the tightening of the blockade. It described these actions as a form of collective punishment against citizens, restricting their movement and denying them access to essential services.
The Ministry noted that this arbitrary conduct and the military mobilization by the aggressors and their proxies reveal a premeditated intent to strangle the local economy and exacerbate living and humanitarian hardships. It further pointed out that using civilian roads and crossings as leverage and a tool for military strangulation constitutes a flagrant violation of all international humanitarian charters, norms, and laws.
The Ministry of Transport called upon the people of Taiz Governorate and all travelers to exercise awareness and fully grasp the magnitude of the plot orchestrated by the Zionist-Saudi alliance and its proxies a scheme aimed at fragmenting Yemen’s geography and tearing apart its social fabric. The Ministry affirmed that all hostile practices and agendas of hegemony and restriction would be shattered against the steadfastness and awareness of the governorate’s residents and the Yemeni people.
