The Yemeni army and popular committees on Saturday repelled large-scale attacks carried out by mercenaries hired by Saudi-led aggression forces in Lahj province, southern Yemen, a military official told Yemen Press Agency
According to the official, the coalition-backed mercenaries have suffered heavy casualties of life and military equipment when the army forces thwart their infiltration attempts in Qabaytah front.
Dozens of mercenaries were killed and injured in the attack, without making any progress on the ground, the official said.
The official said that the attack lasted more than eight hours, which was carried out from three routes, the first one from the side of Ayrem, the second towards Mughniyeh, and the third one in the direction of Hamalah area.
