Minister of Foreign Affairs, Hisham Sharaf, met on Monday in Sana’a with Executive Director of the World Food Program (WFP), David Beasley, and his accompanying delegation, who is currently visiting Yemen.

At the meeting, Sharaf expressed the appreciation of the National Salvation Government for the WFP’s role in providing humanitarian aid in Yemen, which is witnessing the worst human-made humanitarian disaster created by the US-Saudi-Emirati aggression coalition over six years of bombing, destroying the national economy, and imposing collective punishment policies.

The Foreign Minister confirmed that “Sanaa, with its steadfastness and effective and strong capabilities in dealing with the aggression, continues to announce to the whole world that it is for a just and honorable peace.”

For his part, Beasley pointed out that WFP’s office in Sanaa provides humanitarian aid to the neediest groups, especially the displaced.

He stressed that dealing with the repercussions of the humanitarian disaster in Yemen would not succeed except through reaching a lasting peace and a peaceful political solution.
