Mahdi Al-Mashat, Head of the Supreme Political Council, confirmed that the Council will spare no effort in supporting orphans and caring for them in all provinces of the Republic.
That came during the President’s inauguration of the second phase of the “And cooperate in Virtue and piety” project today at the orphanage in the capital, Sana’a, which is implemented by the General Authority for Endowments at a cost of four billion riyals.
President Al-Mashat and the Ministry of Finance directed the re-approval of the budget of the orphanage as it was previously. He said, “My orphan children, you are our children, our future, and you will be the focus of attention and care.”
He added, “From here, I donate half of my salary annually to the segment of orphans of the poor and needy. If we neglect your rights, you have a great father named Sayyed Commander Abdul-Malik Badr al-Din al-Houthi.”
The president continued, “I promise you and all the orphans, the poor, and the needy that we will live up to the responsibility that we have shouldered.”
President Al-Mashat congratulated the leadership of the Endowments Authority for the achievement it had achieved within a short period since its establishment, appreciating the authority’s choice of the orphanage to launch its giant projects. I hope that the orphan segment will have a large part of those projects in the coming year, and that they will benefit all targeted segments of society.
He said, “Today we are launching at the orphanage the project ‘And cooperate in righteousness and piety’, which supports orphans, the blind, science students, and cancer patients, as well as supporting 300 official bodies, associations, and scientific centers, with an amount of four billion riyals for the year 1445 AH.”
He pointed out that the endowment funds were donated by fathers & grandfathers and deprived their children of them, so that their resources would reach the weak and poor segments of society, the sick, the wayfarer, students of knowledge, the construction of dams, water projects, and other services that benefit the poor and needy.
He added, “What everyone must understand is that the benefits of the endowment are for the poor citizen, just as the endowment has specified its disbursements for the weak, the poor, the needy, and the wayfarer. We emphasize to everyone that preserving the endowment funds is a religious duty and responsibility. If we are careful to preserve the endowment funds and recover its funds, we are preserving an important resource. It directly benefits society.”
President Al-Mashat praised the projects implemented by the General Authority for Endowments during the last period, which benefited hundreds of thousands of poor ,needy people, and embodied the disbursement of endowment funds for what was allocated to him, while the beneficiaries of endowment funds during the last stage were, unfortunately, the powerful.
He called on the Endowments Authority to prepare a rental policy that takes into account the poor , needy and eases their burden as much as possible.
He also called on those who still have endowment funds in their hands to fear God and pay the money they owe.
The President expressed his happiness at attending the inauguration of the second phase of the “And cooperate in righteousness and piety” project coinciding with the Prophet’s Birthday event from the orphanage.
He said, “On the occasion of our people’s preparation to receive the honorable birth of the Prophet, we are happy and pleased that we are among the group of orphans in the orphan care home in Sana’a. We are overwhelmed with happiness while we are among you, inaugurating from here the birth of the Messenger of Mercy, the father of the orphans, the poor, and the needy, Muhammad, may God bless him ,his family and grant them peace.”
At the inauguration, which was attended by the parliament Speaker , Yahya Ali Al-Ra’i, and the Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs – Minister of Finance, Dr. Rashid Abu Lahoum, the Grand Mufti of Yemen, the scholar Shams al-Din bin Sharaf al-Din, urged everyone to venerate and revere the Messenger of God, may God bless him , his family and grant them peace.
He said, “The Yemenis have a great place in the heart of the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, who described them as the people of Yemen and wisdom, which requires them to live up to this level of honor.”
President Al-Mashat pointed out that commemorating the Prophet’s birthday expresses love, honor and reverence for the Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him and his family, and strengthens the values of Islam among society.
The scholar Sharaf al-Din pointed out the great status of orphans, as God mentioned them in many noble verses and urged us to provide them with assistance, help, and care for them.
He urged the concerned authorities to disburse allocations to orphans and work to improve their livelihood and various conditions related to their lives so that they can help in building the Yemeni state.
At the inauguration, which was attended by the head of the General Authority for Endowments, Abdul Majeed Al-Houthi, his deputy, Abdullah Allaw, and the two representatives of the Authority, Dr. Muhammad Al-Somali, Dr. Abdullah Al-Qadmi, the director of the orphanage, Ahmed Al-Khazzan, considered the celebration of the anniversary of the Prophet’s birth as a manifestation of the Yemenis’ love for the Messenger, may God bless him , his family and grant them peace.
President Al-Mashat pointed out that the embodiment of loyalty and obedience to the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, is to emulate him and follow his righteous path, reviewing the needs of the orphanage and their various requirements.
The price of the tank was the Endowments Authority’s support for the orphanage and the contributions it provided during the last period, which reflected positively on all the services provided to the house’s members.
The inauguration, which was attended by a number of scholars , officials of the Authority and the Orphan Care House, included folklore passages and honoring examples of the Orphan Care House’s employees who are enrolled in education classes.
