In a swift and calculated response to the assassination of Palestinian Resistance leader Sheikh Saleh al-Arouri, Hezbollah targeted one of the Israeli occupation forces’ Air Traffic Control Bases in northern occupied Palestine.

The Islamic Resistance in Lebanon launched a barrage of 62 rockets, aimed at the base located atop Mount Jarmaq (“Meron”), the highest peak in the ’48 occupied Palestine.

The attack, which occurred at 8:10 am (local time) on Saturday morning, specifically targeted the sole center for the management and monitoring of air traffic in the northern occupied territories, known as the “Meron” Air Traffic Control Base.

Hezbollah stated that this facility has no equivalent alternative, leaving the Israeli occupation with a significant gap in their operations.

Statement issued by the Islamic Resistance:

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

“Indeed, We, from the criminals, will take retribution.” (Quran, 32:22)

Firstly, Meron Air Surveillance Base is located on the summit of Mount Jarmaq in northern occupied Palestine. It is the highest peak in occupied Palestine and serves as the sole center for administration, monitoring, and air control in the northern usurping entity. There is no main alternative to Meron Base, which is one of the two main bases in the entire usurping entity. The other base is Mitzpe Ramon in the south.

Secondly, Islamic Resistance fighters carried out an initial response at 08:10 AM on Saturday, January 6, 2024, targeting the Meron Air Surveillance Base with 62 rockets of various types. This was in response to the assassination of the great leader Sheikh Saleh Al-Arouri and his martyr brothers in the southern suburb of Beirut.

“And victory is not but from Allah, the Exalted in Might, the Wise.”
