Palestinian Ministry of Education and Higher Education announced the martyrdom of 13,177 students and the injury of 21,991 others since the beginning of the Zionist aggression on October 7, 2023 on the Gaza Strip and the occupied West Bank.
The ministry said in a statement today, Tuesday: The number of students who were martyred in the Gaza Strip since the beginning of the war of extermination reached more than 13,054, while 21,320 others were injured ,while in the occupied West Bank, including Jerusalem, 123 students were martyred and 671 others were injured, in addition to the arrest of 560.
It indicated that 657 teachers and administrators were martyred and 3,904 were injured in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, and more than 165 were arrested in the West Bank.
Regarding the damage to the infrastructure of the education sector, it pointed out that 324 government schools, universities and their buildings, and 65 affiliated with the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) were bombed and vandalized in the Gaza Strip, 128 were completely destroyed, and 57 were partially destroyed.
109 schools and seven universities in the West Bank were stormed, vandalized, and their contents tampered with.
Since the start of the war of extermination on Gaza, the Zionist enemy has deprived more than 788,000 students from attending their schools and universities, while most students suffer from psychological trauma and face dire health and living conditions.
With American support, the Zionist enemy has been waging a war of genocide in Gaza since October 7, 2023, which has left more than 155,000 Palestinian martyrs and wounded – most of them children and women – and more than 11,000 missing, amid massive destruction and famine that has killed dozens of children and elderly people.
