Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi confirmed on Sunday his support for the role of the United Nations and its efforts to help improve the situation in Yemen.
According to Al-Mayadeen, Araghchi’s remarks came during his reception of the UN Special Envoy to Yemen, Hans Grundberg, where he stressed his condemnation of “the repeated airstrikes launched by the United States, Britain and the Zionist entity on Yemeni infrastructure.”
He considered these attacks to be “a clear violation of Yemen’s territorial integrity, national sovereignty and a flagrant violation of international law and the UN Charter.”
In a related context, Araghchi said: “The use of force and lawlessness by the United States and Britain, which in fact support the genocide committed by the Zionist entity in Gaza, constitute an unprecedented threat to regional peace and security, and its consequences have affected all countries in the region.”
In turn, Grundberg appreciated Iran’s position and commitment to stability and security in the region, especially Yemen.
