The Yemeni Parliament began today its sessions for the current period, chaired by the Speaker of the Parliament Yahya Ali Al-Ra’i.
At the outset, the parliament expressed its full support for the recent actions of the leader of the revolution, Sayyed Abdul Malik Badr al-Din al-Houthi, and the President of the Supreme Political Council, Mahdi al-Mashat.
This includes their calls for comprehensive readiness at all levels to confront any potential American aggression, including military intervention, in defense of the Palestinian cause and the rights and sanctities of Arab and Islamic nations.
The Parliament emphasized the importance of heeding Yemen’s warnings and halting any escalation, particularly in light of recent statements by former US President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, which advocate for displacement or further aggression in Gaza.
It affirmed that Yemen will not stand idly by in the face of the ongoing oppression against the Palestinian people and will take all possible measures—both military and economic—to halt the crime and conspiracy of displacement.
The Parliament also commended the massive demonstrations held at Al-Sabeen Square in the capital, Sana’a and other Yemeni provinces in solidarity with the Palestinian people and rejection of the displacement plan proposed by US President Donald Trump.
It praised the leader of the revolution’s call for national, Arab, and Islamic unity to prevent the implementation of a new version of the Balfour Declaration.
The Parliament urged Arab and Islamic nations to strengthen their solidarity in confronting regional threats and to take decisive action against any attempts to undermine Palestinian rights.
Furthermore, the Parliament condemned the involvement of what it termed ‘puppet regimes’ in the displacement plot, calling it a betrayal of Arab and Islamic causes and a violation of both international law and moral principles.
It called for a comprehensive political and economic boycott of Israel and its allies, stressing the need for unity and steadfastness among the Yemeni people and their political factions in confronting aggression.
The Parliament urged regional and international parliaments, free nations, and organizations such as the United Nations and the Arab League to take immediate action against the displacement plans and to address the issue at all levels.
It also expressed support for the two-thirds of Democrats in the US House of Representatives who condemned Trump’s proposal for US control over Gaza, describing it as immoral and a threat to global peace.
In a related context, the Parliament welcomed the position of the South African government to officially halt all American companies on its territory and stop the export of minerals to the US in response to Donald Trump’s decision to cut US funding to South Africa and the USAID organization in the country.
The Parliament also addressed domestic issues, denouncing the chaos, mismanagement, and corruption practiced by the mercenary government, highlighting its crossing of all boundaries through the plundering of public funds, making suspicious deals, and looting oil and other resources
It highlighted the looting of public resources, including oil wealth, and the diversion of international aid intended for the Yemeni people.
The Parliament expressed deep concern over the deteriorating security and living conditions in the occupied Yemeni provinces and voiced its support for the citizens there who have been protesting against foreign occupation forces.
It reaffirmed that the expulsion of Saudi-Emirati forces from all Yemeni territories is the only path to achieving lasting peace and security.
During the session, the Parliament reviewed and approved several government proposals, including amendments to laws regarding pensions for the armed forces and security personnel, as well as the implementation of previous recommendations on transport and road regulation.
