Member of Hezbollah’s Loyalty to Resistance parliamentary bloc MP Hasan Fadlallah voiced the Lebanese resistance group’s sweeping rejection of the so-called framework agreement between the political authority in Lebanon and the Israeli enemy, warning it violates the constitution and threatens the foundations of Lebanon’s political order.
In remarks during an interview with Al-Manar on Friday, shortly after the agreement was announced, MP Fadlallah argued that the deal contradicts Article 52 of the constitution, which governs treaty negotiations with friendly states, stressing that it cannot apply to an entity Lebanon considers an enemy.
He also said the move runs counter to the principles of the Taif Accords, accusing authorities of dismantling long-standing national understandings and undermining the National Pact.
The Hezbollah lawmaker pointed to growing public anger, citing the heavy toll of casualties, destruction, and ongoing occupation caused by the Israeli enemy, and accused the government of relinquishing sovereignty, territory, and internal unity.
He further affirmed that the agreement serves Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s domestic narrative amid Israeli battlefield losses, adding that Lebanese authorities are conceding commitments they cannot enforce.
“We will not allow this agreement to be implemented,” Fadlallah said, reiterating firm opposition to the deal.
