Yemen’s armed forces said on Tuesday that its air defenses had managed to shot down a US MQ-9 Reaper drone while carrying out hostile missions in the skies of Hodeida province.
Spokesman of the armed forces Yahiya Sare’e said in a statement on the X platform that the MQ-9 drone was targeted while it was violating Yemeni airspace and carrying out hostile missions in the airspace of the province.
The spokesman added, “This aircraft is the fifteenth that the Yemeni air defenses succeeded in shooting down in support of the resistance in Gaza and Lebanon.”
“The Yemeni Armed Forces continue to carry out their defensive missions to confront any aggression against our country, including monitoring and following up on hostile movements in the Red and Arabian Seas,” Sare’e warned. “They are fully getting prepared to deal with any developments during the next stage.”
