Iran Welcomes Oman’s Statement On Halt To US Attacks On Yemen

Iran has welcomed Oman’s announcement of a cessation of US attacks against Yemen, urging the international community to take effective measures to halt Israel’s assaults on Yemen’s civilian infrastructure and the killing of innocent people, Tasnim News Agency reported.

Esmail Baghaei, spokesperson for Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, made the statement on Wednesday.

He emphasized that despite the halt in US strikes, there is no doubt that Washington remains complicit in crimes committed by the Zionist regime against the people of Yemen.

Baghaei praised the steadfastness of the Yemeni people in supporting Palestinians in the face of genocide and occupation, as well as their resilience against repeated US attacks over the past year.

He stressed that the people of the region would never forget the legendary resistance of Yemenis against foreign intervention.

On Tuesday, Omani Foreign Minister Badr bin Hamad al-Busaidi announced a ceasefire agreement between Yemen and the US, under which neither side will target the other, including American vessels, in the Red Sea and Bab al-Mandab Strait.
