Mahdi al-Mashat, the President of the Supreme Political Council in Sana’a, confirmed on Monday Yemen’s support for Iran’s right to defend its sovereignty and deter aggressors.
According to the official Saba News Agency, Al-Mashat pointed out that the United Nations Charter regulates relations between states and no one has the right to violate it.
Al-Mashat explained that violating this charter would turn the world into a jungle where only the strong survive.
He called on major powers to maintain international peace and security instead of interfering in the sovereignty of other countries.
He added that the collapse of international understanding due to Zionism would lead to the dominance of force in global relations.
Al-Mashat urged peace-loving countries to confront Zionist expansion and halt aggression against Iran and the countries of the region, stressing the need to adhere to the United Nations Charter to maintain peace and security.
Concluding his remarks by saying, “The exploitation of the UN Charter by those who are supposed to protect it is pushing us, and many nations, to work toward strengthening it. We will take all necessary measures to achieve peace and security.”
