Thousands of Moroccans participated today, Friday, in solidarity rallies across various regions of Morocco to support the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip.
The rallies were organized by the Moroccan Committee for Supporting the Causes of the Ummah under the slogan, “Al-Aqsa Friday… Support and Defense,” following Friday prayers in several cities, including Casablanca, Mohammedia, Inzegan, Oujda, Meknes, El Kelaa des Sraghna, and Tangier, according to the Palestinian Safa Agency.
Participants raised the Palestinian flag, displayed images of the Dome of the Rock, and portraits of Hamas leaders. Some banners read, “Palestine is a Trust, Normalization is Betrayal.”
Protesters chanted slogans supporting Palestinian factions and calling for continued backing of the Palestinian cause, including “A Moroccan Salute to Proud Gaza” and “The People Want the Liberation of Palestine.”
Over the past two years, since October 8, 2023, the Israeli massacre in Gaza, supported by the United States, has resulted in over 71,455 deaths and 171,347 injuries, mostly among children and women, and destroyed nearly 90% of the civilian infrastructure. The United Nations has estimated the reconstruction cost at around $70 billion.
