Deputy FM, Hamas’s chief negotiator discuss latest developments in phone call

Yemen’s Deputy Foreign Minister Abdulwahid Abu Ras held a phone call today with the head of Hamas in Gaza and its chief negotiator, Dr. Khalil al-Hayya.

During the call, the two sides discussed the latest developments on the Palestinian scene.

Abu Ras expressed his deepest condolences and heartfelt sympathy to al-Hayya over the martyrdom of his son, Azzam, praying that God grants him mercy and eternal peace.

He also reaffirmed Yemen’s principled and steadfast religious stance in support of the Palestinian people and their just cause.

Abu Ras affirmed that the Palestinian cause will remain the central issue of the Arab and Islamic nation, and that Yemen—its leadership, government, and people—stands firmly with the Palestinian people until they secure their legitimate rights and establish an independent state over their entire national territory, with Jerusalem as its capital.

For his part, Dr. Khalil al-Hayya praised Yemen’s honorable position in supporting and backing the Palestinian people in Gaza.

He also asked the deputy foreign minister to convey his greetings to Abdul-Malik Al-Houthi and to the Yemeni people.
