Senior Islamic Jihad official and his daughter killed in Israeli strike in Lebanon

Senior Islamic Jihad official Wael Abdul-Halim and his daughter were martyred at dawn Monday in an Israeli strike that targeted an apartment on the outskirts of Baalbek City, eastern Lebanon.

According to Lebanon’s National News Agency (NNA), Israeli aircraft launched a guided missile at an apartment of a Palestinian family near the southern entrance of Baalbek.

NNA added that the airstrike killed Wael Abdul-Halim and his 17-year-old daughter Rama, and injured several others.

An angry march was organized in the Jalil refugee camp in Lebanon following the assassination of the Islamic Jihad official.

This crime came as part of Israeli occupation’s ongoing violations of the fragile ceasefire agreement announced on April 17, which was extended last Friday for 45 days until early July.
